Overview

This team will develop a sample set of curriculum modules within the framework defined by the BodyOfKnowledge. These modules can be used as a guide for developing entrepreneurship curricula, or integrated within existing courses (with or without an entrepreneurship focus). The modular design will allow for smooth transitions, enabling students to comprehend how information from one module supports subsequent modules, and to enable instructors to implement units individually or sequentially. Sample module topics may include brainstorming, market research, team-building skills, and liability.

Before the meeting, we will research existing curricular modules, as well as their formats and processes. We will identify a tentative list of topics, and collaborate on the BodyOfKnowledge.

At the meeting, we will build on the BOK discussion and prioritization to create a menu of supporting curricular modules. We will prioritize the modules and create a timeline for module development, focusing on a first set of high-priority modules. Based on the pre-meeting research results, we will share content ideas for these module, including teaching suggestions for critical elements, sample PowerPoint slides, and potential deliverables. We will also define a standard module format, so that components such as targeted core competencies, objectives, and outcomes will be consistent and can be cross-referenced. Prior to the close of the meeting, we will assign module development to appropriate team members.

After the meeting, team members will develop their modules, in collaboration with other group members. We will upload the modules to the project website, cross-referencing them with the BodyOfKnowledge. Following implementation of the modules in some of our courses and further dissemination through conference presentations, we will refine this first set of modules and meet again for the next phase of module development.
