Something from Nothing (or Little)

1. Hand out raw materials or components in class. Example: charcoal, drinking straws, coffee filters
2. Spend 5 minutes trying to make useful things out of these items. (Some people might make a water filter.)
3. Show video about end point. Discuss how need is the mother of innovation process. Example: Water filters such as: LifeStraw (high tech)Bear Grylls making a drinking straw (low tech)
