- Summary
- Students form groups of 3-7 (larger groups better) and inspect a patented product (simpler is better).(e.g. watering can, frisbee)
- Each group ‘tears apart’ an the product, writing out the patent claims they would expect.
- The students are then provided with the patent, comparing their claims with the actual claims (as well as the # of claims).
- A lesson can then follow on the process of patenting…
