Summary
  1. Students form groups of 3-7 (larger groups better) and inspect a patented product (simpler is better).(e.g. watering can, frisbee)
  2. Each group ‘tears apart’ an the product, writing out the patent claims they would expect.
  3. The students are then provided with the patent, comparing their claims with the actual claims (as well as the # of claims).
  4. A lesson can then follow on the process of patenting…
